Gunmen kidnap APC chairman in Ondo



Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Hon. Nelson Adepoyigi, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ward 5, Ifon in Ose local government area of Ondo State. The politician is said to have been abducted while parking his car around 10pm on Monday, May 12. The assailants stormed his compound, where they pounced on him with sticks before whisking him away. Adepoyigis wife, who heard his cries for help, rushed out but found out that her husband had already been taken away by the abductors. The source further disclosed that the kidnappers had contacted the family of the politician, demanding N100 million ransom for his release. State Commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed that his men had launched a manhunt for the kidnappers and assured that efforts were ongoing to secure Adepoyigis safe release. Also, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of Ondo State Command, Olushola Ayanlade, who confirmed the abduction, said the politician was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm.
