Two staff members of the Damboa Local Education Authority (LEA) were k!lled on Monday, May 12, in a bomb blast along the DamboaMaiduguri highway in Borno State. The victims, Gedion Vitalis Lkama and Blessing Luka, were travelling from Damboa to Maiduguri when the incident occurred. According to eyewitnesses, the deceased were seated in front of a Toyota Hiace van transporting mangoes when the vehicle struck an improvised explosive device suspected to have been planted by insurgents. The explosion claimed both lives instantly, leaving few others with injuries. A source within the Damboa Local Government confirmed the victims' identities, describing them as committed and hardworking education officials.
