Superstar footballer, Lamine Yamal signs new Barcelona contract until 2031

Lamine Yamal has signed a new long-term contract with Barcelona until 2031, the Spanish champions announced on Tuesday, May 27. Yamal's previous deal was due to expire in 2026 and the Catalan club decided to tie him down to longer terms as a priority this summer.  Heres the clubs official statement: FC Barcelona and Lamine Yamal have reached an agreement for the renewal of his contract which will now tie him to the Club until 30 June 2031. The player signed his new contract on Tuesday at the Clubs offices in the presence of FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta, first vice president Rafa Yusta, and the Clubs sporting director Anderson Luis de Souza Deco, amongst others. A contract extension for Lamine Yamal is another demonstration of the solidity of the current Bara project. The Bara forward made his debut for the first team on 29 April 2023, at the age of just 15 and since then the lad from Matar near Barcelona has exploded onto the stage that is world football with performances that are already part of FC Barcelona history. Yamal is also set to be handed a pay rise, and will also take over the No. 10 shirt from Ansu Fati, with the hope to add more trophies to his collection after bagging the double this season. Yamal made his first team debut as a 15-year-old in 2023 and has quickly emerged as one of the best players in the world, helping Spain win the European Championship last summer and playing a key role as Bara won a domestic treble this season. In 55 appearances this term, he scored 18 goals and registered 25 assists, while delivering standout performances in some of Bara's biggest games, including the Champions League semifinal against Inter Milan and the LaLiga-defining Clsico against Real Madrid.
