The proprietor of Great Leaders Academy, Ime-Obi Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, of Delta State, Innocent Ezeukwu, has broken his silence after a court discharged and acquited him of alleged r3pe of a minor. Ezeukwu was arrested in October 2023 after being accused of r3ping a 4-year-old girl in his school. According to Delta State Police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, the proprietor was arrested following complaints by the girl's mother who discovered blood in her private part. Upon questioning, the minor stated that her uncle at the school used scissors to cut her on the v@gina before def!ling her. Ezeukwu was arraigned at the High Court, Agbor Division on December 12, 2025 on one count of r3pe under Section 4 of Delta State Violence Against Persons Law 2020. In a chat with Ika Weekly Newspaper during a courtesy visit paid by a community leader, Chief Yomi Oduselu Hassan, the exonerated man expressed mixed feelings over his vindication by the court. He thanked God Almighty, and the Judiciary for vindicating him, but noted that the whole process cost him a lot. According to him, he spent seven months in prison for a crime he never committed, just as he revealed that a lot of innocent persons are in prison for what they did not do. Narrating his ordeal, Mr. Ezeukwu disclosed that trouble started for him, when in 2023, he was accused of using scissors to cut the vaginal of a little girl with the intention of having carnal knowledge of the under-aged girl. Speaking further, he affirmed that a lot of people took interest in the case, and some Human Rights Organisations, also got involved, but all in an attempt to crucify him, as they all believed he did it. He said along the line, this same little girl in question, after some months, accused a popular clergy who also owns a school of the same thing, which made people begin to doubt. He stated that for the 7 months he was in prison, his school was closed, and reopened when he was granted bail, however, he posited that parents by then, had taken their children to other schools. Meanwhile, the secondary section just started, and when parents heard about the false accusation, were afraid and started withdrawing their wards. The proprietor appealed to the General Public to ignore the bad publicity. Ogadi sighted by the publication, Mr. Innocent Ezeukwu who was the defendant in the case was acquitted based on the statements of the prosecution witnesses not corresponding.
