Former Equatorial Guinea government official Balthazar Engonga Ebang who went viral over his s3x t@pes is now facing an 18-year jail sentence

Balthazar Engonga Ebang, the former Director-General of Equatorial Guineas National Agency for Financial Investigation (ANIF), is currently on trial for alleged financial misconduct, with prosecutors seeking an 18-year prison sentence and significant financial penalties. The trial, which began on Monday, June 30, involves several officials linked to a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Finance. Ebang is accused of embezzlement, illicit enrichment, and abuse of power in his role at the agency. The prosecution alleges that he misappropriated more than one billion CFA francs, equivalent to approximately 1.67 million US dollars.  According to the charges, the prosecution is demanding eight years of imprisonment for embezzlement, four years and five months for illicit enrichment, and six years and one day for abuse of power. They are also calling for a fine of 910 million CFA francs and a ban on Ebang from holding public office during his sentence. The defense has rejected all accusations against Ebang and other officials implicated in the case, maintaining that the charges are unfounded.  Ebang, who gained public attention in late 2024 after explicit videos of him circulated online, now faces intense legal scrutiny amid the high-profile corruption probe. The court has yet to deliver a verdict.
