This recovery concludes the search and confirms that all the flood victims have now been accounted. Recall that a number of people were swept away by flood waters on September 8, 2025. Heavy rainfall resulted in severe flooding at Tudun Jukun, Tukur Tukur Ward, in Zaria. This led to the dath of 2 students: Fatima Sani Danmarke, a student of School of Basic and Remedial Studies Funtua, and Yusuf Surajo, also known as Abba. Haneefa, a 3-year old baby, who was backed by her sister Fatima was reported missing and her body has now been recovered. Confirming the recovery, Haneefa's grandfather, Mallam Suleiman of Layin Adamu Mai Aljana, said the body was recovered and brought back on Sunday afternoon, September 14. Suleiman, who said Haneefas father, Sunusi, left for Umrah (lesser Hajj) on Friday, confirmed that the father was around when the incident occurred. I was called around 12 noon and informed that Haneefas body had been recovered. So I rushed home to discover the story is true. We then organized for funeral prayer and subsequent burial of the deceased at about 1pm. Remember that we had earlier performed Salatul Gaib prayer (prayer for an undiscovered corpse) after magrib prayers at the Isa cikon kwami mosque in Magume. he explained. Suleiman prayed for those that assisted the family amid the crisis and appreciated those who contributed towards the recovery of his daughters.
