College football star rushed to hospital after being sh0t 'in a case of mistaken identity'

Florida State University football linebacker, Ethan Pritchard, has been hospitalised after he was sh0t while visiting a family friend on Sunday near Tallahassee, the school announced Monday. The incident took place a little before 10 p.m. Sunday in Havana in the north-central part of Florida's panhandle, according to authorities. Gadsden County Sheriff's office said Pritchard was found near Havana Heights Apartments, where he was then rushed to a local hospital. There, he was placed in the intensive care unit. Officers did arrive [and] were able to get him out of the vehicle, and EMS arrived where they transported him to a local hospital, Gadsden County Sheriffs Office Public Information Officer Captain Anglie Holmes said in a press conference. The shooting occurred about 24 hours after the Seminoles' upset win over the Alabama Crimson Tide, with a final score of 31-17. Pritchard, a true freshman, was in uniform on the sideline throughout the game but did not play. Ethan Pritchard, a freshman linebacker on Florida States football team, is in critical but stable condition in the intensive care unit at a local hospital after suffering a gunshot wound last night while visiting family in Havana, Florida, Public Relations Representative for FSU Football Steven McCartney said in a public statement. The Pritchard family is thankful for the support from so many people, as well as the care from first responders and medical professionals and asks that their privacy be respected at this time. Further updates will be provided as they are available, McCartney said in the statement. FSU Football Head Coach Mike Norvell issued a statement in a press conference on Monday, Sept. 1. Norvell visited Pritchard in the hospital Sunday night and was able to sit with him and his family, grateful for the medical support he has been receiving. "Our football team, coaches, family, we're all here to support them," Norvell said. "They love this family that we get to be a part of, and there's a lot of emotions, and I've got a lot of emotions."
