Lagos police command discontinues case against Pastor Adefarasin, says item found on him was a stun gun and not lethal

The Lagos state police command says it has discontinued the case against popular Pastor, Paul Adefarasin. Recall that the cleric was invited for questioning in June after he was caught in a viral video brandishing an object towards a content creator filming his car at the Lekki-Ikoyi roundabout. In a statement released today September 17, the spokesperson of the command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, said after a thorough investigation, including interrogation and a cautionary statement from Pastor Adefarasin, it was established that the object in question was a stun gun and not a lethal weapon or firearm. Adebisi stated that following police investigation, it was determined that there were no sufficient grounds to proceed with the matter so the case was discontinued. The police imagemaker went on to say that the Lagos State Police Command remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety while maintaining transparency in all investigations.
