Tragedy in Chicago: Assistant principal and her mother shot dead by husband outside schoolShock hit Berwyn, a suburb of Chicago, after an assistant principal and her mother were gunned down outside Lincoln Middle School on Tuesday afternoon. According to Chicago Sun-Times, 46-year-old Nerissa Lee and her 76-year-old mother were sitting in a car when Lees husband, Steven T. Lee, drove up with a rifle and opened fire. Police said he later turned the gun on himself after shooting at officers. Witnesses described hearing nearly 20 gunshots. It was really like 20 times very noisy, said a neighbour, Maria Meriz. Lees sister, Shana Everage, revealed the couples relationship had been strained since June, calling Tuesday the boiling point. The school district confirmed Lees death in a statement, describing her as a dedicated educator and leader who touched the lives of countless students and staff members.
