The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has secured a seven-year conviction of a 26-year-old woman, Chinonso Omengor, who specialised in the exportation of persons for prostitution and organising foreign travels that promote prostitution. The agency disclosed this in a statement on Monday, November 17, 2025. According to the statement, Omengor was arraigned before a Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State, presided over by Justice F.A. Olubanjo, in October 2021. The defendant was subsequently sentenced on November 13 to seven years imprisonment on each count with a fine of N10m. She was also ordered to pay the sum of N1m as compensation to the victim.
