A Nigerian lady on X has gone viral after recounting how she lost a dream job offer the moment she informed the company that she was five months pregnant. The conversation started after an X user asked people to tell me something thats none of my business. In response, the other X user shared her experience. According to her, she had gone through a virtual interview process with a multinational company and secured the job. Because her pregnancy bump wasnt visible until seven months, the company had no idea she was expecting. They sent her an offer letter, and everything seemed set. She said she decided to be honest and called HR to disclose her pregnancy only for them to ask her to hold on. Four days later, she got a call back telling her the company would no longer be proceeding with her offer. Just like that.
She wrote that she cried deeply because the role was a major breakthrough for her, paying over 500k with a hybrid structure two days on-site and three days work-from-home.
