One kidnapped palm wine tapper rescued, the other k!lled after his family began negotiating ransom at N10,000 (video)
Two palm wine tappers were kidnapped in Emuhu, near Agbo, Delta State. One of the palm wine tappers has now been released. Sadly, the other palm wine tapper was k!lled after his poor family could not pay afford to pay ransom. According to activist Harrison Gwamnishu, the family of the slain palm wine tapper began negotiating ransom at N10,000. This led the kidnappers to k!ll him right away. A video shared online shows the moment on palm wine tapper was rescued. He was seen lying by the side of the road. He asked for water and was given, after which he was put in a car and taken to his family. His family members are seen expressing gratitude to God as they welcomed him. Narrating how one palm wine tapper was rescued, Harrison Gwamnisu wrote, "Security agencies responded swiftly. The Military from the 63 Brigade, the Emuhu Vigilante Group, Anti-Cult Abavo, Operation Soup, and teams of Police officers all joined us in the search and rescue mission. "From Emuhu, to Abavo, to Obi-Ayama, to Urhonigbe. We were able to locate one of the victims at Urhonigbe, Edo State. "He narrated the heartbreaking incident on how his colleague was k!lled after the mans family attempted to negotiate with the kidnappers using the only money they had, N10,000.
