15 farmers abducted in Kaduna — Lawmaker

Gunmen have abducted fifteen farmers from Ungwan Nungu community in Bokana Ward of Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The incident occurred on Saturday, November 29, 2025, while the victims were returning home from their farms.  The member representing Jemaa/Sanga Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Daniel Amos, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, December 2, described the attack as cruel, senseless and deeply regrettable. Amos said the incident underscores the worsening insecurity rural communities continue to face. The lawmaker urged residents of Ungwan Nungu and neighbouring communities to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate the situation. He appealed for vigilance and cooperation with security agencies. Amos also called for a coordinated security response to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped victims. It is with deep regret and great concern that I address the unfortunate kidnap of fifteen (15) members of Ungwan Nungu community of Bokana Ward of my constituency, who were abducted on Saturday 29th, November 2025, while returning home from the farm, the statement read. "This heartbreaking incident is another painful reminder of the insecurity that innocent citizens continue to face in their daily struggle for survival. I strongly condemn this cruel and senseless act.  "Targeting peaceful, hardworking community members is unacceptable and must not be tolerated under any circumstance. Our people deserve to live without fear, and those who threaten our collective peace must be confronted with the full weight of the law.  "As we navigate this difficult moment, I appeal to residents of Ungwan Nungu, Bokana Ward, and surrounding communities to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding. Panic or retaliatory actions will only worsen the situation. What we need now is unity, patience, and cooperation with the authorities. "I call on the security agencies to leave no stone unturned in the search for the kidnapped victims and to ensure the prompt arrest and prosecution of those responsible for this heinous crime.  "We expect intensified surveillance, intelligence-driven operations, and a swift, coordinated response that reassures our people of their safety. To the families and loved ones of the abducted persons, I stand with you in this difficult time. Your pain is felt by all of us, and we will continue to push for every necessary action until all the victims are safely reunited with their families.  The safety and wellbeing of our people remain paramount. Collectively, with determination and resilience, we will overcome this dark moment and restore peace to our communities.
