Edo court grants activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, bail



A High court in Edo state has granted bail to activist, Harrison Gwamnishu. Harrison has been in police detention in Edo state since the beginning of this month following a ransom negotiation he conducted with abductors of a young couple in Edo state. The abductors of the couple had demanded for a N50 million ransom. Harrison was contacted by the family and he followed up with negotiations with the abductors who later agreed to collect N20 million ransom. The family claimed they handed N20 million to Harrison to pay the ransom for the release of the abducted couple but upn handing the money to the kidnappers, the assailants discovered some monies were missing from the ransom and decided to hold on to the husband and then released the pregnant wife. Harrison denied any wrongdoing, insisting he has a modus operandi to handle abductors. The family reported the matter to the police and he was arrested and has been in detention.An aide to the Delta state governor, Ossai Success Ovie, disclosed that an Edo court has now granted him bail.The post Edo court grants activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, bail appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
