Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Pastor Odumeje, has stirred reactions online after offering a different interpretation of Christmas, saying he does not celebrate the holiday but instead observes what he calls Christmarity. In a video circulating on social media, the cleric explained that Christmarity represents a Christ-like lifestyle rather than the traditional celebration of Christmas. According to him, the concept signifies enjoyment and Christ-like. Im not celebrating Christmas. I am celebrating Christmarity which is Christ-like, he said. Odumeje added that the word Christmas sounds to him like conducting a church mass, while Christmarity is more aligned with being Christy. As he attempted to further explain the distinction in English, the pastor hilariously switched to Igbo, jokingly saying he would stop speaking to avoid biting his tongue.
