Russell Brand has blasted his ex-wife Katy Perry's new romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. On Thursday, Dec. 18, the comedian, 50, spoke onstage at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, where he brought up his ex-wife, 41, and the politician, 53, while addressing the crowd. Look, Katy Perry, I was married to her. I love her still, and Im glad that her moms in the room to hear me say this, but look. I was okay with Orlando Bloom, but Justin Trudeau? Come on, man! Dont put me in a category with that guy! That globalist stooge, Brand said. Perry and Brand were married from 2010 until 2012, with Brand filing for divorce. Later Katy met Orlando Bloom, 48, at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016 before the former couple got engaged in 2019. In June 2025, the pair called off their engagement after nine years together. They are parents to daughter Daisy Dove Bloom, whom they welcomed in August 2020. Then, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau sparked relationship rumors in July 2025 when they were spotted on a date in Montreal, Canada. The two made their public debut as a couple in October 2025 at a cabaret show at Crazy Horse Paris to celebrate her birthday. Meanwhile, earlier this year, Russell Brand was charged with five counts of assault and r@pe charges stemming from allegations from four women. His sxual assault accusations first came in September 2023, when five women spoke on their alleged experiences in a joint investigation by The Sunday Times, The Times and Channel 4 current affairs show Dispatches. One woman alleged she was r@ped by the actor in a town in the south of England in 1999. Other alleged incidents happened in London in 2001, and between 2004 and 2005.
