
Seven workers were trapped when an uncompleted storey building collapsed in the Bauchi metropolis. The building located on Sir Kashim Ibrahim Street collapsed around 3pm on Monday, December 1, 2025, causing panic among residents and passersby. The Deputy Director of the Bauchi State Fire Service, Dauda Pali, who confirmed the incident said the agency received a distress call and immediately deployed personnel to the scene. We received a distress call at around 3pm that a building has collapsed at Sir Kashim Ibrahim Street, GRA Bauchi. Rushing to the scene, we confirmed the incident and swiftly began a rescue operation, he said. Pali revealed that all seven trapped workers were rescued alive and taken to the hospital for medical attention. He added that further investigations would be conducted to ascertain the cause of the collapse and urged construction firms to adhere strictly to safety standards to avert future occurrences.
