Five suspects taken into custody over brutal attack on 16-year-old young lady in Kaduna

Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the brutal attack on a 16-year-old girl, Endurance Sabo, whose hand was amputated during an attempted kidnapping in Goska village, Kaninkon Ward of Jemaa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The suspects were apprehended following what the Jemaa Local Government Chairman, Mr Peter Tanko Dogara, described as a swift and coordinated intervention involving security operatives in the area. The incident, which occured earlier in December 2025, reportedly involved an attempted abduction targeting Sabo, her grandmother and four younger sisters. While the grandmother and the other children managed to escape unharmed, Sabo was captured by the attackers who inflicted life-altering injuries on her before she was rescued by security operatives.  Confirming the development in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Paul Aliyu, the council chairman said the arrest of the suspects followed the receipt of a distress call from the community. Upon receiving the distress call, the Chairman of Jemaa Local Government immediately coordinated with security operatives to launch a rescue operation, which led to the rescue of Miss Endurance Sabo and the arrest of the five suspects, the statement read. The chairman, however, expressed regret over the severity of the injuries sustained by the victim. Regrettably, she had sustained severe injuries during the ordeal, including the amputation of one of her hands, the statement added. It was gathered that Sabo is currently receiving treatment at the Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan. According to the council, arrangements are being made for her to be referred to a tertiary health facility for more comprehensive and specialised medical care. The victim is now receiving treatment at Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan, and the Council Chairman has promised to take full responsibility for her medical bills, the chairman said. He has also requested the medical team in Kafanchan to refer her to a tertiary health facility where she can receive more comprehensive care..
