A brave police officer lost his life in the assault, which targeted the local police station and a vital Primary Health Care Centre. The attackers also went on a rampage, setting ablaze vehicles and ransacking shops, making off with valuable goods and supplies.
Eyewitnesses describe the scene as chaotic, with residents caught off guard and forced to flee for their safety as the gunmen ran amok for hours. According to locals, the attack came as a surprise, given that the area had seen a significant reduction in such incidents since a peace agreement was reached.
