In a significant breakthrough, operatives of the Delta State Police Command have foiled a kidnapping operation in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state. Two female victims were rescued, and two members of the kidnapping syndicate were killed in the process. The operation, which was carried out in collaboration with the military, resulted in the recovery of a significant sum of money believed to be part of the ransom collected from the victims.
According to the spokesperson for the command, SP Bright Edafe, the operatives trailed the suspected kidnappers to their hideout following a reported kidnapping incident in Ibusa and Enu-Ani Mega City, Ogwashi-Uku. On sighting the operatives, the suspects opened fire, leading to a gun duel. The confrontation resulted in the rescue of the two victims, while the suspects sustained fatal gunshot injuries.
