In a bizarre incident that has left many shaken, a bag containing firearms was discovered outside the home of London Mayor Sadiq Khan in south London. Thankfully, a quick-thinking member of the public, Jordan Griffiths, spotted the bag and immediately alerted the authorities. Griffiths was shocked to his core when he stumbled upon the bag, which contained an MP5 semi-automatic carbine, a Glock pistol, a Taser, and ammunition. "I couldn't believe my eyes," Griffiths recalled. "I took some pictures as proof of what we had found, and then I called the police to report it."
To their credit, the police sprang into action, arriving at the scene within a few minutes of the call. "They were shocked upon arrival, but they quickly secured the items," Griffiths added. The Metropolitan Police have since confirmed the incident, stating that a member of the public called them at around 9:40 pm after spotting the bag containing Met-issued firearms and a Taser on a south London street. The police were able to recover the items safely, and an internal review is underway to determine how the bag was left behind.
According to the police, the bag was likely misplaced by on-duty officers just before it was found. An internal review has been launched, and the officers involved have been removed from duty while the investigation continues. A spokesperson for the mayor described the situation as "serious" and has referred the incident to the Metropolitan Police's Directorate of Professional Standards
