Exciting Updates in Alex Adanike's Case: Police Make New Arrests and Uncover More Suspects

In a significant breakthrough, the Delta State Police Command has carried out a series of raids and arrested additional suspects linked to the murder of 31-year-old Alex Adanike, who was shot and stabbed in Agbhara-Otor community on January 20, 2026. This latest development comes after the initial arrest of eight suspects in connection with Adanike's killing. According to Bright Edafe, the Command's Spokesperson, the victim was mistakenly targeted in place of his twin brother, highlighting the devastating consequences of cult-related violence in the state.

As part of the ongoing investigation, two suspects who allegedly confessed to the crime were initially arrested. However, a recent operation led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations resulted in the arrest of two more suspects, who are members of the same gang. Edafe stated that these newly arrested suspects were linked to those already in custody and also confessed to participating in Adanike's murder. All four suspects were arraigned before the Ughelli High Court on March 31 and subsequently remanded in prison.
