Tragedy has struck in Kaduna, Nigeria, where a group of bandits has brutally executed two young girls who refused to be sexually assaulted. The girls, Abida and Ummi, were among 14 people abducted from the Janjala community in Kagarko Local Government Area on March 1, 2026. Along with a vigilante member, his wife, and 10 others, they were taken hostage by the bandits, who demanded a staggering N14 million ransom.
Despite the families' pleas, the bandits stood firm in their demands, only accepting N13 million after the families struggled to gather the funds. However, even this compromise came with a terrible price: the bandits freed the women they had been holding, but cold-bloodedly murdered Abida and Ummi. According to a source from the area, the two girls had resisted the bandits' attempts to assault them, and in response, their leader ordered them to be shot on the spot.
The horrific incident unfolded on April 4, after the ransom was delivered to the bandits at a location in the Hayin Dam forest in neighboring Kachia Local Government Area.
