Tragedy struck on Good Friday in the seaside town of Whitstable, as a 19-year-old lost his life in a suspected stabbing incident. The Kent Police received a call at 2:04 am on April 3, 2026, regarding a serious assault on Belmont Road, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. Paramedics and police officers rushed to the scene, where they found a man with injuries consistent with stab wounds.
The air ambulance was also dispatched to the area, landing nearby at the Westmeads Recreation Ground around 3 am. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of medical staff, the 19-year-old's injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Following the incident, a forensics tent was set up next to nearby flats on Belmont Road, which remains closed to traffic for several hours.
Kent Police have launched a murder investigation, and a spokesperson released a statement regarding the incident. "We were called to Belmont Road, Whitstable, at 2:04 am on Friday, April 3, 2026, to reports of a serious assault," the spokesperson explained. "Officers and paramedics attended, and a 19-year-old boy sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds. He was confirmed deceased at the scene."
