Three people have been wounded during a Derbyshire sports contest today - as armed police rushed to the event after reports of fired shots and a man with a sword.
The horror incident happened at the Derby Kabaddi grounds on Elvaston Lane in Alvaston at around 4pm on Sunday afternoon, with a large police presence reportedly still in presence.
An eyewitness described a man being shot and then attacked repeatedly with a sword. Other witnesses claimed two gangs caused the violence and said it ruined their tournament.
Video footage posted on Twitter shows terrified crowds running away from what sounds like gun shots being fired. People can be seen screaming and stumbling over in a bid to get to their cars and flee the scene.

The area was swarming with police with one saying the whole force for the area was at the scene.
People were seen frantically trying to leave the site in their cars as they gave their details to police. Some were unable to get their vehicles due to them being at the scene.
Derbyshire Police said in a statement: 'We were called to a large scale disturbance in Elvaston Lane, Alvaston at 15.51 on Sunday 20 August. Three people have been injured, one seriously. They have all been taken to hospital. There is a large police presence in the area and officers are expected to remain at the scene for some time.'
