Salma Hayek exuded old Hollywood glamour as she attended a state dinner honouring China's President with her husband, Francois-Henri Pinault on Monday.

The actress, 57, looked sensational as she visited the Elysee Palace in Paris wearing a glorious blood-red gown.

Her well-tailored garment featured a floor-length tulle skirt and delicate elastic mesh gently cinched around her waist.

To accessorise her regal ensemble, Salma paired her long-sleeved dress with a basic silver clutch and a diamond-encrusted statement necklace.

The Vogue cover star added inches to her physique as she wore a pair of towering muted silver platform heels.

She was chaperoned by her husband Francois-Henri, 61, who looked dapper as ever in a navy blue pinstripe suit.

Their outing comes after she shared rare photos from her wedding to businessman François-Henri on Instagram for their 15 year wedding anniversary.

The first photo featured the actress in makeup and seemed to be a behind-the-scenes look at her preparation for the ceremony.

The second photo, a black-and-white image of the actress's dressing room, showed her over $400K Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere dress hanging on a rack, next to another garment.

The last photo depicted the moment when the Kering CEO placed his bride's wedding band on her finger.

The actress, in her stunning wedding dress, beamed at her husband.

'There are no words to explain the blessing of finding your soulmate. For all of you who found it, never take it for granted.

'For all those of you who haven't, never give up. #tbt to one of the best days of my life,' the actress wrote in the caption.

The wedding took place in Venice over two days. Things kicked off with a masquerade ball rehearsal dinner at the Punta della Dogana.

Guests to the ball wore gold and black masks.

The groom's family had purchased the old building in 2007 and paid for its restoration.

In June 2009, it reopened to the public as an art museum featuring temporary exhibits from the Pinault Collection.

The ceremony took place in the La Fenice Opera House, one of the oldest in Europe.

Also taking part were the groom's children from his first marriage and the couple's daughter. After the ceremony, the guests sang Over The Rainbow.

Those attending the wedding included Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Charlize Theron, Lily Cole, Ashley Judd, Woody Harrelson, Anna Wintour, Bono, David Blaine, Jacques Chirac and other celebrities.

The reception was held in the Palazzo Grassi, a significant location for the pair as they first met in 2006 at a gala there. The Pinault family purchased the building in May 2005. The couple got engaged in 2007 and their daughter was born in September of that year.

The couple had previously gotten married at the 6th Arrondissement City Hall in Paris on Valentine's Day earlier that year in a small ceremony with family and planned a larger celebration a few months later. They currently celebrate both anniversaries.

In an interview with Glamour last year, the actress said she had no idea that she would be getting married that day until her family got involved.

'They just took me to the court My parents, my brother, they were all ganging up on me. I had a phobia of the marriage thing.'

On the 15th anniversary of their first wedding ceremony, the Frida actress shared a photo of the two together.

'After 18 years together and 15 years of marriage, you still make loving you easy, fun, deep and fresh like a gentle breeze. Happy anniversary mi amor,' wrote the actress.

She was surprised by her husband with a third ceremony in 2018, a vow renewal on Bora Bora.

In a 2017 interview with Harper's Bazaar, the actress credited her long and happy marriage to marrying 'the right guy' and cited the couple's support of each other as a strength of their marriage.

'We want the other one to strive. Makes you happy when the other one strives. And you know what, we don't have a very strong social life, because we really like to spend time together. So we do spend a lot of quality time together,' said the actress.
