Families of abducted Abuja-Kaduna train passengers protest in Abuja as abductors make fresh threat

The families of the abducted Abuja-Kaduna train passengers have taken to the streets of Abuja to protest after fresh threats were made by their abductors to begin killing those in captivity if their demands are not met.

 

The protesters held placards, calling on the Nigerian president to secure the release of their loved ones in captivity.

 

"President Muhammadu Buhari, please order the immediately release of children of abductors to save our loved ones," one placard carried by a protester reads.

 

Another reads: "President Buhari please save our loved ones."

This is the first time the families would be protesting in Abuja since the March 28 incident, which resulted in  at least 8 deaths; 26 persons injured and several persons were abducted.
