Actress Ariyiike Dimples reveals why she stopped going to church for three years

Actress and media personality Ariyike Owolagba, widely known as Ariyiike Dimples, has opened up about the moment that pushed her away from church for three whole years. Speaking on the Open Up podcast, Ariyike said everything started after a church elder confronted her over the outfit she wore to service a simple pencil skirt. According to her, the woman told her she would go to hell for wearing it. Ariyiike said the comment shocked her deeply and left her feeling judged and frustrated. In my community church, na only elderly people full there. Yes, you can have your doctrines, but theres a way to talk to young people without condemning them. She added that the matter didnt end there. The woman even reported her to her father. Ariyiike had to send a picture of the skirt to her mum to prove she wasnt dressed indecently. My dad believed in the idea of community raising a child, so I just avoided the community church completely, she said. Despite the encounter, Ariyiike clarified that she didnt abandon her faith she only stayed away from that particular church. She remains a practicing Christian.
