A haunting photo has been shared to highlight the extent of the suffering a two-year-old girl endured as she d!ed in a baking hot car after being left there by her father. Parker Scholtes was abandoned in the car for almost three-and-a-half hours until she was found unconscious by her mother Erika when she returned home. The toddler's dad, Christopher. has come home with Parker asleep in the back of the SUV, and he decided to allow her what he hoped would be 30 minutes extra to sleep in the vehicle. But a court heard Christopher became "distracted" and ended up playing video games and watching porn while Parker suffered in 43C temperatures in Marana, Arizona. The new image shows tiny handprints on the inside of the window of the car inches from where Parker was strapped in. The girl had tried desperately to break free of the 2023 Acura MDX when it was parked on the drive of the family home.
Handprints are seen sprawled all across the glass in the disturbing picture, released today, Nov. 28, by Marana Police Department who investigated Parker's de@th and went on to arrest Christopher. The father of four was eventually charged with murd3r and, in the days before the 38-year-old man was due to be sentenced this month of November, he ended his own life in jail. Despite Christopher's de@th, police have today published fresh information about the case. They said the dad drank beer, played video games and watched pornography inside the family's air-conditioned home while his daughter struggled. Parker was only found when her mother, Erika, 37, came home from work as an anesthesiologist at the hospital to which Parker was rushed on the tragic day last July. Police testing found the surface temperature of the car seat was 149.1F, according to detailed incident reports by the officers. They said Parker had been strapped in her forward-facing car seat in the Acura MDX, but able to scramble to the rear driver's side window where she left her fingerprints. On the floor below Parker's feet was an iPad with a pink case and two tiny, child-sized pink sandals. The window was facing west, absorbing the full brunt of the scorching sun that quickly caused the temperature inside the car to skyrocket. It was anticipated Christopher would have been jailed for between 20 to 30 years. When police arrived at the home in Marana, they spoke to Christopher who, wearing a Vans cap backwards, a lip ring, and flip-flops, told officers that he left his daughter in the car with the engine running and the air-conditioning on because she was asleep when they arrived home. However, he lost track of time and the engine automatically shut off after about 20 minutes, as police testing confirmed.
