

Niger State Police Command has arrested a domestic worker for stealing a Lexus SUV from his employer and attempting to transport it to Abuja for disposal. The spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, November 27, 2025 said investigation revealed that the suspect Suleiman Audu stole the vehicle from a residence in Lagos, where he usually assists the owner to wash the car and do other domestic chores. According to the PPRO, police operatives attached to the Paiko Division intercepted the vehicle along the Minna-Abuja road. On November 19, 2025 at about 2.50pm, Police operatives attached to Paiko Div intercepted an unregistered Lexus Jeep, grey in colour and driven by one Suleiman Audu 35yrs of Kubwa, Abuja, the statement read. "The vehicle was intercepted at Farindoki village, along Minna-Abuja road when the suspect was heading to Abuja with the said vehicle. In the course of interrogation, the said driver couldn't give a satisfactory account of himself, and he was arrested, and taken to Paiko Div. "A preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect stole the said vehicle from a residence in Lagos, where he usually assists the owner to wash the car, with other domestic chores. "He also said that he planned to dispose the vehicle in Abuja. However, the owner of the vehicle was later traced and contacted, while the suspect and the recovered vehicle were transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation.
