A married woman charged with groping a teenager in a Magaluf sauna confessed to a court that she got horny and thought the alleged victim was interested. The unnamed Irish woman, who was 37 at the time of the alleged incident but is now 38, has been arrested and charged by Spanish police. She has since been released on bail and allowed to return to Ireland while an investigation is underway. Prosecutors are now looking into the incident, aiming to secure a prison sentence for the woman implicated in the alleged assault. They're also seeking financial compensation for the man for the trauma he allegedly suffered. The woman was brought to court after she was arrested on suspicion of groping a Swedish man's genitals whilst in a Turkish sauna in the Spanish city of Magaluf, according to the Daily Mail. She was ordered to spend a night in a police cell after being detained but was eventually bailed, as officers launched a probe into what happened.
The alleged s3xual assault is thought to have occurred on 3 June at the swanky four-star Hotel Martinique in Magaluf. The woman, believed to hail from Co. Cork, reportedly entered the sauna with the 18-year-old around 6pm that evening. According to the alleged victim's account, the woman is said to have positioned herself directly beside him moments after he had been swimming in the hotel pool. Prosecutors allege that "with a lustful spirit, taking advantage of the fact that no one else was there and against his will, put her hands on his genitals and fondled them until he said: 'No, no, no' and left." According to Crime World, the woman told a Spanish court back in June: "I got horny. I thought he was interested in me too, that we were flirting. She added: I apologised right away. I was very embarrassed, I'm sorry. Legal representatives for the man are seeking a prison term, along with 440 in damages for their client. Officers are anticipated to give evidence regarding the aftermath of the encounter, with both parties expected to appear in court. Witnesses present at the hotel during the supposed incident have revealed that the Swedish man was already relaxing in the sauna when the woman walked in. She allegedly struck up a chat, enquiring about the duration of his stay in Magaluf. The woman then apparently made her way to the pool area before trailing the man to the Turkish steam room, commonly referred to as a hamam. Police documentation subsequently detailed that after the alleged assault, the man reported the matter to hotel employees, who promptly contacted the authorities. When police arrived to apprehend the woman, she was reportedly accompanied by her husband at the time of her arrest. She was subsequently escorted to the station for questioning and remained in custody overnight before being released.
