Lagos-based pastor, Wale Adefarasin of the Guiding Light Assembly, has dismissed claims of a Christian genocide in Nigeria. While speaking in his church on Sunday, November 2, Adefarasin said over the years, there have been k!llings of Christians in Nigeria so it is not a new thing and doesn't in anyway amount to a genocide of Christians. He questioned the sudden love of the West for Christians in Nigeria. He wondered if the sudden love from the West is because Nigeria now has the largest refinery or if it is because of the 21st century minerals that have been discovered on Nigerian soil. In his wordsIn over forty years that I have been a Christian, there have been k!llings in Southern Kaduna, on the Plateau, there have been riots. Sometime ago, I think it was in France, there was an image of Prophet Mohammed was defaced and as a result of that, there were k!llings of Christians in Nigeria and so it's nothing new. It doesn't amount to Genocide. The way the West is talking about it is as if a Christian steps on the street, his head will be blown off.I am trying to understand this sudden love for Christians. Is it because we now have one of the largest refineries in the world and no longer have to ship raw materials abroad and bring the finished products or is it because of the 21st century minerals that we now have in our earth that they use to generate nuclear power for electric vehicles? Are those the reasons that our friends are threatening to invade our country to defend and protect Nigerian Christians?''Watch a video of him speaking below
