North Carolina court orders TikTok Influencer to pay $1.75m for destroying a womans marriageA North Carolina jury has ordered TikTok influencer Brenay Kennard to pay a massive $1.75 million after she was found liable for wrecking a Durham couples marriage. According to the lawsuit, Kennard who has nearly 3 million followers on TikTok was accused of seducing and having an affair with her manager, Tim Montague, a relationship that reportedly played out both offline and on social media, CNN reported. Akira Montague, Tims ex-wife, dragged Kennard to civil court, accusing her of destroying her home, her peace, and her family structure.Her lawyer, Robonetta Jones, said She has received justice from losing her husband and the father of her children. The jury found Kennard guilty of criminal conversation and alienation of affection an old North Carolina law that still allows a spouse to sue the person they believe interfered in their marriage. Only a handful of U.S. states still recognize this. Akira said the alleged affair led to emotional trauma, affected her health, and robbed her children of a stable two-parent home.Tim eventually left his wife for Kennard. But Kennard fired back after the verdict, claiming Akira knew her marriage was already over:She gave her consent. She said it was okay because she knew her marriage was over.
