Update: Names of 265 Niger State Catholic school pupils, students and staff still in captivity



The Catholic Diocese of Kontagora in Niger State has published the names of 265 students, pupils and staff and teachers of St. Marys Catholic School, Papiri, Agwara LGA, who are still in captivity.  Bandits attacked the school on November 21, 2025 and kidnapped 315 people, including 303 students and 12 teachers  The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Niger State, the Diocese and the Local Government Council on Sunday, November 23, confirmed that 50 students had managed to escape from abductors.  The diocese confirmed on Monday that 239 nursery and primary pupils, 14 secondary school students, and 12 teachers remain in captivity, making a total of 265 people.  It also released the full list of those who are yet to regain their freedom.
