American man speaks on how new US travel ban has blocked his Nigerian wife from joining him

An American travel content creator, Chris, has shared his experience following a new US presidential travel ban that has effectively halted his Nigerian wife, Adenike, from relocating to the United States. Chris explained that they have been married for over a year and a half and have been waiting since May 2024 for her immigrant visa interview.  However, under the new proclamation, the US will no longer issue immigrant visas to Nigerian spouses, removing an earlier exemption that allowed family-based immigration. He noted that his wife has never visited the United States or met most of his relatives, despite them knowing each other for five years.
