British comedian Russell Brand faces new r@pe and s3xual @ssault charges after two women come forward

British comedian and actor, Russell Brand has been charged with additional counts of rape and sexual assault in London following complaints by two more women. The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Tuesday that the 50-year-old now faces one count of rape and one count of sexual assault linked to the new allegations. Police said the women who have made reports are continuing to receive support from specially trained officers. Detective Chief Inspector Tariq Farooqi said the investigation remains ongoing and urged anyone affected by the case, or anyone with relevant information, to come forward and speak with police. Support is also available through the independent charity Rape Crisis. Brand is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court in January 2026 in relation to the new charges. The latest development comes eight months after Brand was initially charged with one count of rape, one count of oral rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault following complaints from four women. Police previously said those alleged incidents occurred between 1999 and 2005. Brand has denied the allegations, stating publicly that while he was a fool in his younger years, he has never engaged in non-consensual activity. Police began investigating Brand in 2023 after receiving multiple allegations that followed media reports by Channel 4s Dispatches and The Sunday Times. Among the claims, one woman alleged she was raped at Brands Los Angeles home in 2012, while another said she was in an emotionally abusive and controlling relationship with him when she was 16. In relation to the original five charges, Brands trial is scheduled to begin at Southwark Crown Court in London in June 2026.The post British comedianRussell Brand faces new r@pe and s3xual @ssault charges after two women come forward appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
