I gave him my blessings. However, I will not defect with him — Gov Alex Otti speaks on Peter Obi’s defection to ADC

Abia state governor, Alex Otti, has dismissed claims that he will be defecting to another party just as his political ally and former Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, defected from the Labour party on whose platform he ran for president in 2023 to the African Democratic Congress ADC. In a chat with newsmen on Tuesday, December 30, Otti said he joined the Labour party before  Obi joined the party. He said Obi has made his decision to defect to the ADC but he will not be joining him to defect. He saidIf you remember I joined Labour party before Peter Obi so I didn;'t join with him. He has communicated that he is leaving Labour party and I give him my blessings and I told him that I will have to continue the struggle to rescue Labour party. That is the party that brought me to power.
