

Friends are mourning a man who is suspected to have did in the fire at Great Nigeria House. Chukwuebuka Emmanuel had been home when the fire started five days ago, and he did a video from his house, expressing shock about the fire. Friends claim he then drove with his brother to the shopping centre in Lagos Island from where he went live on Facebook as he filmed the burning building. Sadly, that was his last post. Since then, he and his brother have not been seen.


According to Friends, the car they arrived in is still parked at the car park but they can't be accounted for. Friends have gone on Chukwuebuka's last post to express sorrow.

So far, three bodies have been recovered and eight people rescued after a fire gutted the 25-storey Great Nigeria Insurance House on the evening of Wednesday, December 24, 2025. The disaster also wiped out goods worth billions of naira, leaving importers and Instagram vendors devastated. The victims recovered from the rubble included an adult woman found de@d and handed over to her husband, a dec@pitated adult man with severed limbs, and another adult man whose body was intact. It is not clear if Chukwuebuka and his brother are among the bodies recovered. Eight men, including a firefighter, were rescued with varying degrees of injuries and taken to hospital.
