Real Madrid and Brazil legend, Roberto Carlos, has been rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery after the 52-year-old was diagnosed with a heart issue. The Three-time Champions League winner was reportedly enjoying some downtime with his family, his wife, and one of his children in Brazil before he needed to be taken to a nearby hospital. The procedure, which usually takes around 40 minutes to complete, took over three hours due to 'complications'. Spanish outlet AS reported the operation was successful, and Carlos is now "out of danger". He will remain under observation for two more days, with representatives confirming he is "fine now". Their report claims that a full-body MRI subsequently detected an issue with his heart. Carlos is said to have immediately required urgent surgery in order to have a tube fitted. The procedure was reportedly scheduled to take 40 minutes, but went on for nearly three hours due to an issue. Carlos is said to be doing well following the operation, but will be kept in the hospital for 48 hours as a precaution. Via his entourage, the 2002 World Cup winner told AS: Im fine now.
