Your sacrifices for the nation will not be in vain— COAS tells wounded-in-action Soldiers

 The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu,  has assured soldiers wounded in action that they would receive the best medical care, emphasizing that their sacrifices for the nation would never be in vain. This commitment was delivered by the Chief of Administration, Army Headquarters, Maj.-Gen. Isah Abdullahi, during a working visit to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna.Maj.-Gen. Abdullahi stated that the visit on Sunday, November 30, was an important step to evaluate the hospital, which is regarded as a flagship facility of the Nigerian Army. "Last week, upon his assumption of duty, I visited this hospital to assess its operations and, most importantly, to meet with the wounded-in-action soldiers from our ongoing operations," Abdullahi explained. He revealed he was then directed by the COAS to follow up on the conditions of the soldiers and to identify any challenges facing the hospital. The ultimate goal, he noted, is to address these issues and ensure continuous improvement of the facility.Maj.-Gen. Abdullahi shared his findings after interacting with the soldiers and touring the facility:Its evident that this hospital has undergone significant transformation, representing a complete paradigm shift from its previous state. He highlighted that the hospital now serves not only military personnel but also civilians from Kaduna and surrounding areas, cementing its status as a true centre of excellence in medical care. "Much has improved here, and we hope this visit will contribute further to the progressive development of the facility," he added, stressing the Armys goal to ensure the hospital continues to play a critical role in meeting the health needs of both the military and the public.Addressing the wounded soldiers directly, the Chief of Administration reaffirmed that their sacrifices for the nation are deeply appreciated. He stressed the military authorities' commitment to ensuring that their service is not overlooked. We will do everything possible to guarantee that they receive the best medical care, with the intention of returning them to their duty posts as swiftly as possible, Abdullahi promised. The visit concluded with the Chief of Administration touring the facilities and interacting with the wounded soldiers, alongside the Chief Medical Director, Brig.-Gen. Godwin Ogoh, and other principal officers of the hospital.
