

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the k!lling of three women during the recent BachamaTsobo communal violence in Lamurde Local Government Area of the state. The suspects were arrested at about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026 in Tigno area of Lamurde LGA, following actionable intelligence. The suspects were identified as William Joshua, 30, and Ezekiel Luka, 23, both males and natives of Tigno, of Bachama extraction. The spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, January 4, said the arrest was linked to the k!lling of three Tsobo women reported on Friday during the renewed crisis. The victims identified as Mrs Dozimn Lala, Mrs Nirtawi Nwere and Mrs Walami Wilson, were fatally shot while assisting one Mr Gospel, a Tsobo farmer, on his farm. A fourth victim, Mrs Grace Wilson, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical attention. Exhibits recovered from the suspects include one AK-47 magazine loaded with 29 rounds of live ammunition, one machete, and the sum of N90,000 cash, the statement read. The PPRO added that the suspects were currently providing useful information to investigators, while a detailed investigation was ongoing at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The police reassured residents of the affected communities of their commitment to restoring peace and bringing all perpetrators of the violence to justice.
