Anambra Man Faces Trial for Brutal Murder of Employer and Theft of N6 Million

A shocking crime has made its way to the courts of Anambra State, with two suspects facing trial for the brutal murder of their employer and the subsequent theft of a staggering N6 million. The drama unfolded on March 18th, 2026, when operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) successfully arraigned 21-year-old Chiemerie Anieke M, the alleged mastermind behind the heinous crime, and his accomplice, Godwin Nnabuike Nwokporo M, also 21, before the High Court in Onitsha.

According to eyewitness accounts, Chiemerie allegedly used a pestle to strike Ikechukwu Simon Nwite, his employer, on the head, resulting in his untimely death. The suspect is also linked to an attack on Ogechukwu Nwite at Fegge, Onitsha. In a twisted plot, Godwin allegedly aided and abetted the crime by providing a bank account through which over N8 million belonging to the deceased was transferred. Fortunately, the police were able to recover N6 million from the suspects, which has been presented as evidence in the ongoing court proceedings.

In a statement, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, revealed that the suspects have been remanded at the Correctional Centre pending further proceedings in the matter.
