Breaking News: Kano Local Government Secretary Found Safe After Daring Rescue Mission
In a thrilling turn of events, operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) have successfully rescued Hon. Hamza Musa Durba, the kidnapped Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area in Kano State. The daring rescue mission unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday in Rano, where the DSS operatives had tracked down the hideout of the armed bandits responsible for the abduction.
According to reports, Hon. Durba was taken from his residence in Kibiya on Friday, March 20, 2026, by armed bandits who demanded a staggering ransom of N100 million. Intelligence reports suggested that the kidnappers had been tracking the victim using insider information provided by a local resident, and had reportedly originated from Rijana, an area known for its association with criminal activities along the Kaduna-Abuja corridor.
The DSS operatives, armed with credible intelligence, launched a coordinated raid on the suspects' hideout in Rano, which led to a fierce gun battle. Miraculously, Hon. Durba was rescued alive, while two suspects were apprehended. Two other members of the gang managed to escape with gunshot injuries and are currently being pursued by security operatives.
