Tragic Loss in North Wales: Teenager Given Life Sentence for Mother's Murder
In a heartbreaking case, 18-year-old Tristan Roberts has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his 45-year-old mother, Angela Shellis. The devastating event unfolded in October 2025, when Roberts held his mother captive in their Prestatyn home for over four hours, inflicting physical harm upon her before ultimately taking her life.
According to North Wales Police, Roberts physically assaulted his mother while brandishing a hammer and refusing to allow her to leave her bedroom. Footage from CCTV cameras revealed the disturbing scene, as the pair left their home on foot shortly before 3:20 am on October 24th. The fatal attack occurred at the Morfa Nature Park, where Angela suffered severe head injuries.
A disturbing sequence of events followed, with Roberts seen walking home alone, before returning to the Morfa area, where it is believed he attempted to clean up the crime scene. It was there that a member of the public discovered Angela's body in undergrowth, a discovery that would later lead to the arrest and conviction of her son.
