Fresh Violence Rocks Jos Again: Three Innocent Lives Lost



Violence has struck Jos once again, leaving a trail of sorrow in its wake. On April 3, 2026, three innocent lives were lost in Gyel Nyango Community, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, while one person sustained injuries during a senseless attack. Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with armed assailants shooting sporadically before fleeing into the night. The community is now on edge, with residents bracing themselves for another night of fear.

Rwang Tengwong, the Spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders Association, spoke out against the violence, calling it "one too many senseless assaults on innocent citizens." He urged security agencies to take swift action and apprehend those responsible for the attack, which he described as a devastating blow to the community. Tengwong also warned residents of rural communities in Jos South, Riyom, and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas to be vigilant, as the cycle of attacks shows no signs of slowing down.

According to the State Police Command, the attack occurred at around 9:20 pm, when the victims were returning from a mining site. A patrol team led by the Divisional Police Officer of B Division Bukuru was quickly deployed to the scene, and the injured victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
