Nigerian doctor puts Blessing CEO to the test on live TV over concerning cancer claim
On April 4th, social media influencer Blessing CEO Okoro appeared on Arise TV alongside medical doctor Dr Adefunke Arowolo to discuss her stage 4 cancer diagnosis. The conversation quickly took a surprising turn as Dr Arowolo began to question the validity of Blessing's claim. Blessing had previously shared her story of discovering a lump in her breast and undergoing tests to determine if it was cancerous. However, Dr Arowolo pointed out a series of discrepancies in her account.
According to Blessing, she initially visited a hospital after discovering the lump and was told it wasn't cancerous. She claimed that months later, she returned for another test, which revealed that the lump was indeed cancerous and in its fourth stage. However, Dr Arowolo countered that no doctor would conduct a biopsy on a patient suspected of having cancer without first performing an imaging test. She explained that for patients under 40, an ultrasound scan is usually performed first, while those over 40 undergo a mammogram before a biopsy can be done. Dr Arowolo also expressed concern that no hospital would allow a patient to move around with a cancerous lump for six months without taking immediate action.
Blessing responded by claiming that she had seen an oncologist, but Dr Arowolo disputed this, saying that no hospital would refer a patient to an oncologist without first
