Nigerian troops have dealt a massive blow to notorious bandits in Zamfara, taking out over 65 terrorists in a daring operation that has sent shockwaves throughout the region. The operation, led by troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, involved a coordinated ground and air assault on the bandits' stronghold in Tsafe Local Government Area. According to sources, the battle began at around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, and raged on for over seven hours, with troops engaging the bandits in a fierce exchange of fire that was supported by precision airstrikes.
The bandits, led by the notorious Ado Allero, had reportedly mobilized a massive force of 300 heavily armed fighters on motorcycles, deploying them from Yan Wari and Dankarami Gwaska camps in a desperate bid to repel the advancing troops. However, the superior firepower and tactical coordination of the troops proved too much for the bandits, resulting in a devastating loss of life and a significant blow to their operations.
Among those killed in the operation were Kachalla Iliya Sarki, a key commander and operational leader within Ado Allero's network, as well as fellow lieutenants Dogo Sule and Iliya Mai Rasha.
