Comedian Andy Dick was found suffering an apparent drug overdose on the streets of Hollywood on Tuesday, December 9, according to recent reports. The 59-year-olds life was saved by fast-acting passers-by who administered Narcan, the life-saving opioid overdose treatment. Photos obtained by TMZ showed the comedian, who has faced numerous public struggles, unconsciously slumped over on a concrete staircase outside a building in the famed Los Angeles enclave. He was reportedly limp and unresponsive. Several friends and bystanders rushed to his side, screaming for him to "wake up" and calling for an ambulance. A dose of Narcan was quickly administered to Dick, who reacted positively to the treatment and regained consciousness as first responders from the Los Angeles Fire and Police Departments arrived.

Despite the serious nature of the incident, an LAFD spokesperson told TMZ that Dick, born Andrew Thomlinson, refused additional treatment or transportation to a hospital. The "Ben Stiller Show" alum later told the outlet that he was alive and "OK," but did not elaborate further on the incident. Dicks public health scare comes amid a history of serious legal issues, including repeated run-ins with the law over the past few years: 1.) Conviction: In November 2022, he was convicted of sexual battery for grabbing an Uber drivers crotch in April 2018. He was subsequently sentenced to 90 days in prison and ordered to register as a sex offender.2.) Subsequent Arrests: Less than two months after that conviction, he was arrested again for public intoxication and failure to register as a sex offender.3.) Dropped Charges: The former NewsRadio star was also arrested for felony sexual battery in May 2022, though those charges were eventually dropped when the alleged victim stopped cooperating with the case.
