Amy Schumer officially filed for divorce from husband Chris Fischer one month after announcing their separation and 7 years after getting married. The actress filed on Tuesday, Jan. 6, New York County court records show. The Kinda Pregnant actress, 44, and Fischer, 45, got married on Feb. 13, 2018, and later welcomed son Gene, now 6, in May 2019. Schumer revealed the breakup on Instagram Dec. 12, after online speculation about the state of their marriage. "Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years," she wrote at the time. "We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time." She concluded that post by saying the split is "amicable and all love and respect! Family forever." In early November, the Trainwreck actress wrote a message on her Instagram Stories alongside a picture of New York City and praising Hulu's divorce-lawyer series All's Fair: "Chris and I are still married." A week later, on Nov. 13, one insider told PEOPLE. Theyre privately working through normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have. They are both committed to the relationship." Then, in a Dec. 1 Instagram post, Schumer addressed speculation about her marriage, writing alongside a longer update on her recent health journey, "Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism." "Fingers crossed we make it through," she continued at the time. "He's the best."
