Manchester United have been forced to issue a statement after the club captain, Bruno Fernandes' X account, was hacked. The Red Devils skippers page was compromised in the aftermath of their FA Cup third-round exit at the hands of Brighton. Shortly after 11 pm on Sunday night, a string of posts appeared on the midfielder's account. The first of the series of bizarre posts saw hackers post: "Join Macclesfield FC. Excited for the future", referencing the National League North side who knocked out FA Cup holders Crystal Palace on Saturday. Another post was directed at the club owners as it appeared to be calling for their removal. .
